Welcome to
The Longmynd Lodge

Freemasonry in Church Stretton, Shropshire

The Longmynd Lodge No 4877 is the senior Freemasonry Masonic Lodge located in Church Stretton, Shropshire. We will celebrate our Centenary year in 2026.

We are a friendly Lodge made up of Salopians and also men who are new to the area, including many members who work all over the country and spend their weekends back at home amongst the Stretton Hills.

The profile of current Lodge members is business owners, engineers, accountants,  retired forces, salesmen, teachers, corporate trainers, recruiters, boxing/fitness trainers, surveyors, students and retired. We are people from very different backgrounds and all ages including Shropshire’s first Freemason initiated at age eighteen.

What We Do

As a Lodge we strive to improve ourselves spiritually and mentally as parents, friends and members of the community. We actively contribute to local charities. Our meetings consist of formal ceremonies and lectures followed by a more informal dinner. We have recently restarted our Lodge of Instruction which helps new members in particular to learn more about Freemasonry and prepare for their development in the Craft.

Location

We share the newly refurbished, dedicated Masonic Hall in Church Stretton, Shropshire, with our Daughter Lodge, Caer Caradoc. We meet for regular meetings at 6pm on the 4th Friday of the month, September to April (excluding December).

Why Join Us?

We are a happy, supportive and welcoming Lodge that seeks to help every member to gain the most from their Freemasonry; to build character and support members as individuals; to develop confidence and other life skills; to make new friendships; and to make a positive contribution to society and to charitable causes. If you are already a Freemason, then why not visit us at one of our regular meetings. If you are not yet a Freemason then please get in touch with us to find out more.
